Buni sympathises with Fika market fire victims

Mai Mala Buni has commiserated with victims of the Fika Market fire disaster, describing the incident as unfortunate and a setback to ongoing efforts to strengthen the local economy.

In a statement signed by his Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, the governor said the fire occurred at a time when residents were deeply committed to building their businesses and improving economic activities in the area.

“This is not just a loss to the individuals but to the state in general. We will support the victims to recover from this painful loss,” Buni said.

The governor directed the State Emergency Management Agency to provide immediate assistance to those affected and to conduct an assessment of the extent of damage and losses recorded in the incident.

He assured that his administration would continue to provide a conducive environment for economic growth and prosperity across the state.

Buni also encouraged the victims and residents to remain resilient in the face of the tragedy.

“As faithful, we strongly believe that nothing happens to a believer without the knowledge and will of his Creator. I am optimistic that God will support you to recover and grow bigger with huge prosperity,” he said.

The governor further urged traders and residents to remain cautious and proactive in preventing fire outbreaks in homes, shops and markets.
