Governor Agbu Kefas has approved the release of N235 million for the payment of outstanding entitlements to 30 deceased staff members and four retirees of Taraba State University.
The approval, announced in a statement on Thursday, is aimed at settling long-standing benefits owed to the affected families and retired personnel of the institution.
According to the statement, the intervention underscores the administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare and the promotion of stability within the state-owned university system.
The government noted that the payment would provide much-needed relief to the families of the deceased staff and the retirees who had been awaiting their benefits.
It added that the gesture was part of broader efforts to strengthen confidence in the state government’s support for the university community and ensure industrial harmony in the education sector.
Beneficiaries are expected to begin receiving payments following the completion of necessary administrative processes.
