In a daring rescue operation, hunters successfully liberated Galadima Danladi Tau, the district head of Lau town in Ardo-Kola local government area of Taraba State, from the clutches of kidnappers.
The abduction took place when the kidnappers raided the district head’s palace under the cover of darkness on Saturday, seizing the traditional ruler.
Upon receiving the distress call, local hunters swiftly mobilized and tracked down the abductors to their hideout, leading to a confrontation where the hunters managed to overpower the criminals, securing the safe release of the district head, Galadima Danladi Tau, although he sustained injuries during the ordeal.
Following the rescue, the kidnappers launched a retaliatory attack on the town, prompting a fierce counteroffensive by the hunters that lasted for several hours, ultimately repelling the assailants.
Residents, including Nuhu Tau, highlighted the persistent threat of banditry in Lau and neighboring villages, acknowledging the crucial role played by the collaborative efforts of hunters and vigilantes in clearing the area of criminal elements.
In a bid to bolster security measures, military personnel have been deployed to the region to reinforce safety and restore stability in the wake of the incident.
The police spokesman in Taraba State, Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the occurrence and reassured the public that normalcy has been reinstated in the area following the successful rescue and subsequent defense against the attackers.
