The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has expressed his condolences to the family of the late Alhaji Ali Chiroma, a former president of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who passed away earlier this week.
In a statement released by the Vice President’s Spokesperson, Stanley Kingsley Nkwocha, Shettima visited the family home of Alhaji Chiroma on Sunday in Maiduguri to offer his sympathies following the death of their father and husband.
Chiroma died on Tuesday at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Borno State. He served as NLC president from 1984 to 1988.
The deceased labour leader will be remembered for his dedication to workers’ rights and service to the nation.
