Yobe Govt Signs N22.3bn Flyover, Underpass Contract

The Yobe State Government has signed a N22.3 billion contract for the construction of a flyover bridge and underpass at the Damaturu Main Roundabout to enhance urban infrastructure.

The Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umar Duddaye, on Monday signed the contract on behalf of the state government, while Engr. Habib Geojea represented Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited, the contracting firm.

Duddaye said the project aligns with Governor Mai Mala Buni’s commitment to infrastructural development.

“The flyover and underpass will cost N22.3 billion and will be completed within 12 months. Additionally, the Damaturu-Gambir road contract has been awarded to Messrs Elegance Construction Nigeria Limited, with a completion period of nine dry months,” he said.

The Commissioner also announced plans for:

23.5km of new roads

27km of concrete drainage systems

Resurfacing of major roads in Damaturu

The projects will commence in Q2 2025.

The Area Manager of Triacta Nigeria Limited pledged quality execution of the project.

Residents of Damaturu expressed excitement, describing the project as long overdue and vital for the city’s development.
