DSS Commences Recruitment for Officers, Other Ranks

The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the commencement of its recruitment exercise for officers and other rank cadres across the country.

According to the Service, interested applicants are to submit handwritten applications accompanied by photocopies of relevant academic qualifications, addressed to the Director-General of State Services (DGSS), through their respective state commands.

The requirements for officer cadre applicants include: being a Nigerian and indigene of the state of application; age between 20 and 30 years; possession of at least five O’level credits including English Language in one sitting; a minimum of a Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree or a Lower Credit Higher National Diploma from a recognised institution, as well as a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate.

In addition, female applicants must be single while male applicants must not be less than 1.60 metres in height.

For the other rank cadre, applicants are required to be Nigerians and indigenes of their state of origin, aged between 18 and 27 years, and possess at least five O’level credits including English Language in one sitting. Female applicants must be single, while male applicants must also be above 1.60 metres in height.

The DSS stated that applications should include a handwritten letter, comprehensive curriculum vitae, photocopies of authentic academic and other credentials, including National Identification Number (NIN) slip or card.

Applicants are expected to apply through their states, reflecting their senatorial zones, with submissions to be made at the administrative unit of their state command on or before Aug. 22, 2025.

The Service added that the recruitment examination has been scheduled to hold on Aug. 30, 2025, while further directives on the conduct of the exercise will be communicated in due course.
