
The Prime Minister of Dickon Mitchell has officially received the Taraba State delegation to the 2026 African Liberation Festival during a diplomatic engagement held at the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministerial Complex, Botanical Gardens, Tanteen, St. George’s, Grenada.
The high-level meeting comes ahead of the anticipated African Liberation Festival 2026, an international cultural gathering aimed at strengthening ties between Africa and the Caribbean through heritage, tourism, arts, and cultural exchange.
Members of the Taraba delegation included Hon. Jerry Manwe, Nigeria’s Ambassador to Grenada; Dr. Nagombe Joseph Titus, Taraba State Commissioner for Heritage and Ecotourism; and Mr. Nixon James Bature, Director of Protocol to Governor Agbu Kefas, among other government representatives.
Discussions during the reception focused on enhancing cultural diplomacy, promoting tourism partnerships, and deepening the historical relationship between African and Caribbean peoples.
The meeting also underscored Taraba State’s commitment to cultural preservation, heritage promotion, and international cooperation under the administration of Governor Agbu Kefas.
The delegation conveyed Governor Kefas’ goodwill message to the government and people of Grenada while reaffirming Taraba State’s readiness to participate actively in the festival and showcase its rich cultural heritage, tourism potential, and creative identity on the global stage.
The African Liberation Festival is expected to attract participants from across Africa, the Caribbean, and the global African diaspora, providing a platform for unity, historical reflection, and cultural renaissance.
