Police Academy Opens Admission Portal for 2026/2027 Degree Programmes

Nigeria Police Academy POLAC Wudil campus admission 2026/2027 UTME cut-off 180 application portal students

The Nigeria Police Academy (POLAC), Wudil, Kano State, has commenced the sale of application forms for admission into its 13th Regular Course Degree Programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session.

The academy announced that the online application portal would remain open for six weeks, from June 3 to July 15, 2026, for qualified Nigerians seeking admission into its degree programmes.

According to an admission advertisement signed by the Registrar, Barr. Ekpere Fidelis Ezeugwu, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth and possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN).

The academy stated that candidates must have scored at least 180 marks in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and must have selected the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, as their first-choice institution during JAMB registration.

It added that applicants must possess a minimum of six credits, including English Language and Mathematics, in WAEC, NECO or equivalent examinations obtained in not more than two sittings.

The institution further stipulated that applicants must be between 16 and 21 years old by Oct. 31, 2026, and must be medically, physically and psychologically fit.

Male applicants are required to have a minimum height of 1.67 metres and an expanded chest measurement of at least 86 centimetres, while female applicants must be at least 1.64 metres tall.

The academy also stated that applicants must not be married or pregnant at the time of admission and must possess valid email addresses and telephone numbers.

It noted that SSCE statements of results or certificates from examinations conducted before 2023 would not be accepted.

On the application process, the academy directed interested candidates to visit its admission portal at http://admission.polac.edu.ng  to obtain a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) code required for payment and registration.

According to the notice, applicants are to pay a non-refundable fee of N6,000, which includes N2,000 for the Post-UTME examination, through any commercial bank branch in Nigeria.

After payment, candidates are expected to complete the online application form and upload scanned copies of their SSCE certificates, birth certificates and certificates of origin.

Applicants are also required to print their completed application forms and guarantor forms for presentation during the aptitude test and subsequent screening exercises.

The academy disclosed that all applicants would undergo a Computer-Based Aptitude Test at its ICT Centre in Wudil, Kano State, on a date to be announced later.

Candidates who meet the required benchmark in the aptitude test would proceed to an automated physical screening exercise, where they would be required to present original copies of their academic credentials, birth certificates, certificates of origin and medical fitness reports from government-recognised hospitals.

Other mandatory documents include evidence of good character from village or district heads, indigene certificates endorsed by local government authorities and guarantor forms signed by public servants not below Grade Level 13, police officers not below the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), or officers of equivalent rank in the armed forces and other paramilitary agencies.

Successful candidates at the physical screening stage will proceed to automated medical screening and interview/selection exercises before final admission decisions are made.

The academy stated that successful applicants would be notified through their registered email addresses and SMS.

Available programmes are spread across the Faculties of Humanities, Science, Social and Management Sciences, as well as the Department of Education.

Courses offered include English, History and International Studies, Linguistics and Nigerian Languages, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, Criminology and Security Studies, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics and Forensic Science.

The institution, however, announced that it would not admit candidates into its Law programme during the 2025/2026 and 2026/2027 academic sessions.

According to the academy, admitted candidates will undergo a combined academic and police training programme lasting a minimum of five years.

Upon successful completion, graduates will earn bachelor’s degrees in their respective disciplines and be commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendents of Police II (ASP II).
