The Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) has commenced a data verification exercise in Jalingo, Taraba State, as part of a nationwide effort to review figures submitted by states and local government areas.
The exercise followed the receipt of a delegation from the commission by the Agbu Kefas administration on Tuesday.
Leader of the delegation, Adamu Fanda, said the exercise was designed to generate accurate and updated data that would be used in determining revenue allocation among states and local government areas across the country.
Fanda explained that the team would work closely with relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and local authorities in Taraba to ensure comprehensive data verification that reflects current realities on the ground.
He added that the outcome of the exercise would help strengthen transparency and fairness in the distribution of revenue to sub-national governments nationwide.
