3 Division Team Emerges Victorious at Bauchi Polo Tournament

In a thrilling finale, the 3 Division Polo team clinched the coveted Selected Cup at the Annual Bauchi Polo Tournament on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Abubakar D Umar Polo Ground in Bauchi. Led by Major Aminu Mairuwa, the team defeated Kuyambana Polo Team 4-0, securing their triumph.

This victory coincided with the division’s win in the Nigerian Army Inter-Division Combat Platoon Obstacle Competition 2024, held in Jos. The Bauchi Polo Tournament saw teams from across the country compete for various cups, with the 3 Division Jos Polo team emerging as champions.

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed, congratulated the winners and participants, reiterating the state government’s commitment to sports development. He praised the dedication and commitment of the people to nation-building and peaceful coexistence through sports.

The President of the Bauchi Polo Club, Brigadier General II Adamu (Rtd), thanked the state government and sponsors for their support, assuring that the club will continue to promote polo excellence.

Dignitaries in attendance included the Commissioner of Sport and Youth Development, Mr. Salisu Gamawa, Major General AA Adekeye, Barden Bauchi Alhaji Umar Dahiru, Senator Shehu Buba, and other traditional rulers.
