6 Brigade Holds Joint Route March to Boost Security Synergy in Jalingo

The 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) has conducted a joint route march in Jalingo to promote interagency cooperation and enhance operational readiness among security agencies in Taraba State.

The exercise, held on Friday within the Jalingo metropolis, brought together personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Taraba Marshal, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society.

According to the organisers, the joint exercise aimed to promote physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and mutual understanding among various security formations operating in the state.

Speaking before the commencement of the march, the Commander of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, Brig.-Gen. Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, said the event was part of the Army’s regular training activities designed to ensure the physical and mental alertness of personnel.

“Today’s route march is not just about fitness. It is a demonstration of our strength, unity, and readiness to defend our nation at all times,” Uwa said.

He added that the exercise serves as a reminder that discipline, teamwork, and endurance remain the hallmarks of military professionalism, urging participants to march with pride and purpose.

“As we step off, let us show the people of Taraba and Nigeria that the security forces remain united, alert, and mission-ready,” he said.

The joint route march, which covered major streets across Jalingo, was also aimed at reinforcing esprit de corps among participating agencies while emphasizing their shared commitment to sustaining peace and security in Taraba State and across the country.

Residents of Jalingo who witnessed the exercise commended the show of solidarity and coordination among the security personnel, describing it as a reassuring sign of unity in the state’s security architecture.

The event was coordinated by the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army Public Relations Office, with participation from senior officers of the various agencies.
