The Gombe State Police Command has dismissed reports of an alleged attack on the ECWA Church in Kashere, Akko Local Government Area, describing them as entirely false.
In a statement on Sunday, the Command said that the Divisional Police Officer of Pindiga and the Officer in Charge of the Kashere Police Outstation promptly contacted a church elder, who confirmed that no attack took place during the Hausa service. The elder also noted that police officers were present at the church throughout the day, providing routine security coverage.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, condemned the circulation of such misinformation, warning that it could create unnecessary panic among the public. He added that the source of the false claims would be investigated and appropriate actions taken.
The Gombe State Police Command reassured residents of its commitment to maintaining law and order, urging the public to remain calm and law-abiding.
