The Adamawa State Government has issued a fresh warning prohibiting car racing, power-bike racing and all forms of unauthorized motor sports on public roads, citing rising dangers to public safety and the environment.
In a public notice signed by the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Mohammed Sadiq, the Ministry expressed concern over what it described as “reckless activities” that have caused noise pollution, air pollution and serious risks to road users.
According to the statement, the government is particularly alarmed by incidents leading to the loss of lives — including children — resulting from illegal road racing across parts of the state. The Ministry said such tragic outcomes are “unacceptable and deeply regrettable.”
Hon. Sadiq said the State Government would no longer tolerate any form of car-race stunts or power-bike displays on public roads, stressing that offenders will be arrested and prosecuted under existing laws in Adamawa State.
He urged residents to conduct themselves responsibly and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to maintain a safe, clean and peaceful environment.
The Ministry emphasized that the directive is for “strict compliance.”
