The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested six suspects over an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and armed robbery in Giade Local Government Area of the state.
This is contained in a statement issued on Tuesday in Bauchi by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib.
Habib said the suspects were arrested following a tip-off received at about 3:00 a.m. on Jan. 9, 2026, from a good Samaritan, reporting an attack that occurred earlier the same day in Giade town.
He explained that a group of about seven armed men allegedly attacked two members of the Nigerian Forestry and Security Services attached to the Giade Emirate Council, identified as Mohammed Musa, also known as Baushe, aged 40, and Auwal Maidawa.
“The suspects, armed with cutlasses, knives, sticks and a dane gun, attacked the victims and inflicted injuries on them before robbing them of a dane gun, a torchlight and a handset,” he said.
According to the statement, detectives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Giade Division, CSP Bello Yusuf Kumo, swung into action and arrested one Aminu Abdulkadir, 22, of Unguwar Guru.
Habib said that during interrogation, Abdulkadir confessed to participating in the robbery and led police to the arrest of five other suspects — Habu Musa, also known as Habule, 24; Adamu Samaila, alias Aliyos, 24; Yusuf Sabo, alias Isibu Dan Tsure, 24; Abdullahi Garba, alias Audu Guntu, 25; and one Dan Azare, all of Giade town.
Preliminary investigation, he said, revealed that the suspects had been terrorising Giade town, breaking into houses and dispossessing residents of valuables including 13 handsets, wrappers, lace materials, an MP3 player and a Bluetooth device, with items valued at about ₦1.2 million.
Items recovered from the suspects include two red Boxer motorcycles, sharp knives, a saw allegedly used for house-breaking, four ATM cards, a motorcycle ignition switch with key and three capacitors.
Habib said the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, had directed that the suspects be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
He assured members of the public of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
