Fintiri to Restore Vandalised Power Facilities in Demsa

The Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has announced plans to replace and reinstall electrification equipment vandalised and stolen in parts of Demsa Local Government Area.

Fintiri made the disclosure on Tuesday during his ongoing statewide engagement tour in Demsa, assuring residents that his administration would not allow criminal activities to deprive rural communities of essential infrastructure.

He said all damaged and stolen electrical installations previously provided to serve communities in the area would be fully restored, stressing that access to electricity remains a key component of his rural development agenda.

The governor pledged to address requests presented by the people of Demsa and acknowledged the consistent support he has received from the electorate in the area.

He urged residents to take ownership of government projects by safeguarding public facilities, noting that the protection of infrastructure is a shared responsibility between government and citizens.

Fintiri expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and assured the people that his commitment to Demsa would continue to yield tangible democratic dividends anchored on purposeful and people-oriented leadership.

In separate goodwill messages, the Chairman of Demsa Local Government, Kate Raymond Mamuno; a member of the State House of Assembly, Felix Tangwami; the Commissioner for Health; and the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, commended the governor’s leadership style.

They highlighted projects executed in the area, including road construction, establishment of a cottage hospital, rural electrification, construction of model schools and youth employment initiatives.

The event featured the presentation of gifts to the governor by the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), the Muslim Council of Demsa, members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Fulani representatives and other community groups. Cultural troupes also entertained guests with traditional songs and dances.

Earlier, the governor commissioned a rehabilitated Government Lodge in Demsa executed by the Local Government Council. He also paid homage to the Hama Batta, His Royal Highness Alhaji Gladstone Teneke, formally informing the traditional ruler of his visit and mission to the area.
