The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has alerted the public to a fake website circulating online under the title “INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026,” describing it as misleading and unauthorised.
In a public notice issued on Saturday, the commission said it neither approved nor originated the link being shared, warning Nigerians against submitting personal information on the fraudulent platform.
INEC specifically disowned the link, “tinyurl.com/INEC-Ad-hoc-St…”, urging members of the public to disregard it.
“The website currently circulating as ‘INEC Ad-hoc Staff Recruitment 2026’ is fake, misleading, and not authorised by the Commission,” it stated.
The commission emphasised that all official recruitment information would be communicated exclusively through its verified website and recognised communication channels.
INEC advised citizens to remain vigilant and avoid falling victim to online scams, adding that further enquiries could be directed to the commission through the following phone numbers: 09050858629, 09050858675 and 09050858649.
