The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will commence physical and credential screening of applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables from March 9 to April 18, 2026.
In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja, PSC spokesman, Mr Torty Njoku Kalu, said the exercise would take place across designated centres in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
He said all candidates who successfully completed the online registration are required to log on to the recruitment portal — https://npfapplication.psc.gov.ng — to check their application status and print the required documents ahead of the screening.
According to him, applicants must present the following documents at their screening venues on the date and time indicated on their invitation slips: Guarantors Form, Application Submission Slip, Invitation Slip, Credentials Screening Form and Physical Screening Form.
Kalu added that candidates are also expected to come along with the original National Identity Number (NIN) printout or card issued by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), O’ Level (GCE/SSCE) certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and LGA or state of origin certificate.
He said specialist applicants must provide their trade test or professional certificates, while all candidates are to submit duly completed and signed guarantors’ forms, with attached photocopies and passport photographs of referees.
“Applicants are to present both original and duplicate copies of their credentials, neatly arranged in two separate white flat files, with recent passport photographs attached,” he said.
The spokesman further stated that candidates must appear at their respective screening venues dressed in white canvas shoes, white T-shirts, white shorts and white stockings.
He noted that the screening would hold at designated centres within each state and the FCT, as indicated on the candidates’ invitation printouts.
Chairman of the PSC, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), reaffirmed that the recruitment exercise is free of charge and does not attract any pecuniary obligation.
He assured applicants that the process would be conducted with transparency and accountability, urging them to beware of online impostors and scammers seeking to defraud unsuspecting candidates.
Argungu warned that anyone found engaging in fraudulent activities in connection with the recruitment would be arrested and prosecuted.
