Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has condemned recent attacks on communities in Madagali and Hong Local Government Areas, describing them as cowardly acts of terrorism that will not be tolerated.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, the governor warned perpetrators to desist from further violence or face decisive action.
“We will not let terrorists undermine our efforts to restore peace and stability in Adamawa,” Fintiri said. “Those behind these senseless attacks must desist immediately or face the full weight of our collective resolve.”
He reassured residents of government’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, stressing that his administration would continue to work closely with security agencies to track down and prosecute those responsible.
“We have done this before, and we are determined to do it again,” he said, expressing confidence in the ability of security forces to contain the situation.
The governor urged residents of the affected areas and the state at large to remain calm and continue with their lawful activities without fear.
“We have your back. We will protect you and your livelihoods,” he assured.
Fintiri also commended security agencies for their bravery and dedication in responding to security challenges, pledging sustained government support to enhance their operations.
He called on the people of Adamawa to cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could aid efforts to restore lasting peace in the state.
