JAMB Announces New Arrival Time for 2026 UTME Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has adjusted the arrival time for candidates scheduled for the first session of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

In a notice issued on Monday via its official social media platform, the board announced that candidates are now required to arrive at their Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres by 7:00 a.m., instead of the earlier scheduled 6:30 a.m.

JAMB stated that the first session examination will commence at 8:30 a.m. and conclude at 10:30 a.m.

“Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00 a.m. as against the earlier published 6:30 a.m., while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 a.m. and end time 10:30 a.m.,” the board said.

The board also clarified that candidates are not required to reprint their examination slips following the change in arrival time.

According to JAMB, the UTME daily timetable includes four sessions from Monday to Friday, with adjusted timings introduced to ensure smoother operations at CBT centres nationwide.

The adjustment followed feedback from candidates and parents over the difficulties associated with very early morning travel, including safety concerns and logistical challenges, especially for candidates travelling long distances to examination centres.

The 2026 UTME is scheduled to hold from April 16 to April 25, 2026, across designated CBT centres nationwide.
