A high-powered delegation of government officials and security leaders on Monday visited Ngoshe in Gwoza Local Government Area to assess ongoing renovation of homes damaged by recent insurgent attacks.
The delegation included the Executive Chairman of Gwoza LGA, Abba Kawu Shehu Timta; Commissioner Saina Buba; the Divisional Police Officer, I.G. Abubakar; and the Brigade Commander of the 26 Task Force Brigade, N.I. Abdullahi. They were accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Caleb Yohanna.
The visit focused on evaluating progress on reconstruction projects and strengthening collaboration between civil authorities and security agencies to restore stability in the affected community.
Speaking during the inspection, Yohanna described the visit as both a responsibility and an honour, highlighting the resilience of residents of Ngoshe despite the destruction caused by the attacks.
“What we witnessed goes beyond the physical damage. It reflects a community that is steadfast, hopeful, and committed to moving forward despite adversity,” he said.
Officials noted that the joint presence of political leaders and security personnel underscored a unified approach to post-conflict recovery in the area.
Authorities also reiterated their commitment to ensuring displaced and affected families regain access to safe housing and basic living conditions, while efforts continue to rebuild homes and restore a sense of security and normalcy.
The visit, officials said, marks another step in the broader campaign to rehabilitate communities affected by insurgency, with Ngoshe emerging as a symbol of resilience and collective recovery in southern Borno State.
