The Adamawa State Government has established a taskforce dedicated to the decongestion of the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market, with the aim of revitalizing commercial operations within the state.
Led by the Honorable Commissioner of the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, and Industry, Dr. Ishaya John Dabari, the committee’s formation signals a strategic move towards enhancing the economic landscape of the region.
In a meeting with taskforce members on Wednesday, Commissioner Dabari highlighted that the recent initiatives in the state capital align with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s urban renewal initiatives aimed at advancing the state’s development agenda.
The decongestion of the Jimeta Ultra Modern Market is anticipated to bolster security measures, streamline vehicular traffic flow, and provide a platform for increased revenue generation for the state government.
Dr. Ishaya John Dabari disclosed that the decongestion process is scheduled to commence two weeks after Ramadan, with the Falluja Market identified as the proposed relocation site for traders.
Encouraging public support for Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration, Dr. John Dabari emphasized the importance of promoting commercial activities to drive economic growth within the state.
The taskforce comprises various security agencies such as the Police, Directorate of State Security, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Army, alongside trader unions including Rana ta fito, Gamzaki, and Shops Owners Association, among others, reflecting a collaborative effort towards achieving market decongestion objectives.
