Zulum Mourns Death Of His Special Adviser, Kester Ogualili

Borno State Governor, Babagana Umara Zulum has expressed deep shock over the passing away of his Special Adviser on Community Relations, Chief Kester Ogualili.

Hon. Kester Ogualili died Friday afternoon at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital after a protracted illness.

The Governor extended his condolence to the family of the late Ogualili, his associates and the Zenith Bank plc, where the deceased worked for many years.

Zulum’s message was in a statement released by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bindi, on Saturday.

“I am saddened by the passing of Hon Kester Ogualili; he has served the people of Borno diligently for many years. Hon. Kester was a promoter of peace and a good ambassador of the Igbo community in Borno,” Zulum said.

He added, “We will continue to remember his role serving as a bridge to foster peaceful co-existence among the residents.”

The Governor prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

Hon. Kester was of Igbo ethnicity and hailed from Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra but lived most of his life in Borno State.

Hon. Kester served as the Special Adviser on Community Relations between 2011 and 2019 during the administration of Senator Kashim Shettima, now Vice President.

He was also appointed to the same position by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, served from 2019 to 2023, and was reappointed for another term in January 2024.
