The Bauchi State Independent Electoral Commission (BASIEC) on Friday announced the postponement of the local government area elections from August 10 to August 17, 2024.
According to BASIEC Executive Chairman Ahmed Makama, the initial date is no longer feasible due to undisclosed reasons. Makama urged political parties and stakeholders to take note of the new date and prepare accordingly.
The elections will now take place on August 17, and political parties are advised to adjust their internal mechanisms accordingly.
