Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has expressed deep sadness and shock over the tragic death of the Gara of Chanchagi, HRH Alhaji Tanimu Kunbiya, and his son, Yusuf, who were brutally murdered on Friday evening while returning from a funeral event in Takum.
Describing the incident as “tragic” and “heinous,” Governor Kefas has ordered an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killings and directed security agents to apprehend the perpetrators and bring them to justice swiftly.
The governor appealed for calm among Takum residents, assuring them that his administration is committed to ridding the state of lawlessness and brigandage. He emphasized that the era of banditry and criminality is over, thanks to robust security measures being implemented.
Dr. Kefas extended his condolences to the people of Chanchagi and Takum, urging peaceful coexistence and cooperation in the pursuit of justice. He reaffirmed his dedication to working tirelessly with partners to ensure the safety and security of all citizens in Taraba State.
