Borno Police Command Reiterates Ban on Motorcycles and Electrical Bikes

The Borno State Police Command has issued a press release reminding the public that the ban on motorcycles, including electrical bikes, in the state is still in effect. The ban was initially imposed by the Borno State Security Council due to security challenges in the state.

In a press release signed on Thursday by ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, the Command warns that anyone found in possession of electrical or petrol-powered motorbikes will be arrested for violating the order.

Filling stations are also warned not to sell petrol products to motorcyclists, or they will face sanctions and prosecution.

Delivery and logistic companies are advised to use tricycles (Keke Napep) for their operations in the state. The Command seeks the cooperation of the public to maintain peace and security in the state.
