A 50-year-old woman, Nemis Usman, participating in ‘Operation Keep Taraba Clean’, was killed by a hit-and-run driver in the Jalingo metropolis.
The incident occurred early Thursday along Yola Road near Mile Six, Nobis Junction. Usman died before being rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, where her remains were later evacuated to the hospital morgue.
The Police are investigating the incident to identify the driver responsible. The coordinator of Operation Keep Taraba Clean, Iliya Kefas, and the Taraba State Police Command spokesperson, Gambo Kwache, confirmed the incident and assured that efforts are being made to track down the driver.
This incident follows a recent boat mishap in Ardo-Kola LGA, where four women reportedly drowned.
