French midfielder Paul Pogba is set to make his return to football in 2025 after his four-year drug ban was officially reduced to just 18 months.
The ruling means Pogba will be allowed to resume training with his club, Juventus, in January and be eligible for official matches by March 2025.
Pogba was initially handed a four-year suspension after testing positive for a banned substance in 2023. The case sent shockwaves through the football world, with many questioning the future of the 31-year-old star.
However, an appeal by Pogba’s legal team successfully argued that the presence of the substance was unintentional, leading to a significant reduction in the length of his ban.
The tribunal’s ruling has also confirmed that Pogba will not be required to pay any court fees, providing further relief for the player and his legal team.
