Obasanjo Unveils Sound International Mission in Bauchi

The Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, in collaboration with the Bauchi State Government, has launched the Sound International Mission 2024 to empower Africans, particularly those with hearing challenges.

Speaking at the launch, former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the initiative aimed to provide life-changing humanitarian services to vulnerable communities across Nigeria.

The foundation, in partnership with the Starkey Hearing Foundation, pledged to distribute over 10,000 free hearing aids across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, expressed his administration’s commitment to supporting the foundation’s mission, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in expanding humanitarian services.

The state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr. Sani Mohammed Dambam, noted that the initiative aligned with Governor Mohammed’s healthcare blueprint, aimed at improving healthcare access for underserved populations.

The Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu, commended Obasanjo for extending crucial healthcare services to Bauchi State.

The Sound International Mission 2024 will also address visual impairments and other non-communicable diseases.
