Adamawa Police Command Announces One-Day Shooting Range Exercise

The Adamawa State Police Command has announced a one-day shooting range exercise scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

According to a statement signed by SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Police Public Relations Officer, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Adamawa State Command, the exercise will be conducted at the Counter Terrorism Unit (CTU) Base along Mubi Road, in Girei Local Government Area, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

This training session is part of the Command’s ongoing efforts to enhance the operational readiness and marksmanship of its officers. During the exercise, officers and men of the Command will practice live shooting, which may generate considerable noise in the surrounding areas.

The Adamawa State Police Command has issued an advisory to residents, particularly those in nearby communities such as Nas Radio Station, Sangere FUTY, Federal Housing, and Hayin Gada, urging them to steer clear of the training area and remain calm if they hear the sounds of gunfire throughout the day. This advisory is intended to prevent any unnecessary alarm among residents and ensure public safety.

Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, expressed appreciation for the understanding, cooperation, and support of Adamawa State’s law-abiding citizens.

He reiterated the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across the state and assured residents that measures have been put in place to ensure the safety of everyone during the exercise.
