Senate Approves Establishment of Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship, Bama

The Nigerian Senate has unanimously approved the Bill for the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture and Entrepreneurship, Bama (SB 185).

Sponsored by Distinguished Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan, SAN, the Bill passed through all legislative stages during the plenary session on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

The Bill, first read on October 5, 2023, progressed swiftly through deliberations, earning strong support from lawmakers.

During Thursday’s session, the Chamber celebrated Senator Lawan’s efforts, with colleagues commending his dedication to advancing education and entrepreneurship in Nigeria.

The proposed university aims to address critical challenges in agriculture and entrepreneurial development, providing a platform for innovation and skills enhancement.

With the Senate’s approval, the Clerk of the National Assembly will harmonize the Bill into a clean copy for transmission to the President for assent.
