Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has signed the law to repeal and enact new districts in the state.
During signing of the law in an event that took place in his office at the government house Yola on Thursday, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Said with the signing of the law, 83 new districts will be created in the state, as demanded by the communities, hence the consideration by the state government.
The Governor expressed hope that with the enactment of the new law creating more districts, there are chances that criminal activities will reduce in the state.
The Governor equally announced that henceforth, salaries of district heads and their staff will be coming from the local government councils and will be reviewed from time to time in order to meet up with the present economic realities.
He added that government will continue to answer the request of the people as it remain committed to them and the development of the state as a whole.
