Fintiri Relocates Surveyor General’s Office to Government House for Better Coordination

The Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the relocation of the State Surveyor General’s office to the Government House in Yola to improve coordination of land allocation and the distribution of essential services across the state.

The State Surveyor General, Mr. Pwavidon Simon, disclosed this during a media briefing in his office on Wednesday.

According to Mr. Simon, the relocation aims to enhance the governor’s access to firsthand information on land matters and align the office’s operations with global best practices.

“This move will ensure better control and coordination of activities involving government ministries, departments, agencies, and the general public,” Simon said.

He highlighted that the office is currently undertaking several projects, including the deployment of desk officers for various assignments. These efforts, he said, are designed to ensure efficient land management and planning in the state.

Mr. Simon urged the public to seek proper guidance before executing any projects, adding that his office is equipped to assist with measurements and planning to avoid errors.

He further revealed that, under Governor Fintiri’s leadership, the Surveyor General’s office has been upgraded with satellite-based technology, enabling it to monitor activities across the state effectively.

The Surveyor General also reminded residents that the executive order against deforestation remains in effect. He announced plans to map out designated areas for development, adding that his office would soon commence monitoring these areas to ensure compliance with the administration’s policies.
