Fintiri Flags Off N19.7bn Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex Construction

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has inaugurated the construction of the Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex, a N19.7 billion project designed to boost economic activities and attract investors to the state.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday in Yola, Fintiri described the project as a strategic initiative aimed at creating a vibrant commercial hub, generating employment, and modernizing the state’s urban infrastructure.

“This project will not only drive economic activities but also create jobs in construction, retail, security, management, and hospitality sectors,” he said.

The governor urged traders and business stakeholders to collaborate with the Ministry of Commerce to ensure the project’s success, calling on the commercial community to embrace the initiative rather than doubt its feasibility.

The contract has been awarded to three firms:

LUBELL Nig. Ltd for LOT 1,

Madugu Commercial and Construction Company for LOT 2,

AMIJAPP Nig. Ltd for LOT 3.

The project will be supervised by Mssr Associated Design Consultants, with an expected completion period of 18 months.

The Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr. Ishaya Dabari, lauded the governor for his commitment to economic development, describing the project as a step toward transforming Adamawa into a commercial hub.

Similarly, the Chairman of Yola North Local Government Area, Barr. Jibrin, pledged support for the initiative, stating that it would enhance business activities and improve livelihoods across the state.

The Jimeta Ultra-Modern Shopping Complex is expected to provide modern retail spaces and state-of-the-art facilities, aligning with the government’s urban renewal agenda.
