Fintiri Assures Adamawa’s Participation in National Sports Festival

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has assured that the state’s teams will participate in the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival scheduled to hold in Ogun State in May 2025.

The governor also expressed optimism that the Adamawa contingent would return with medals from the festival.

Governor Fintiri gave the assurance on Wednesday while receiving the National Sports Festival Unity Torch at the entrance of the Government House, Yola. The Unity Torch was presented by the Director of Athletics, National Sports Commission, Mrs. Kiana Mbora.

Represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House Yola, Dr. Edgar Amos Sunday, the governor described sports as a unifying force with significant societal value. He noted that sports promote unity, discipline, love, and friendship among people.

Governor Fintiri disclosed that his administration had invested substantial resources in the completion of a new stadium along Numan Road, aimed at boosting sporting activities across the state.

Earlier in her remarks, Mrs. Kiana Mbora said the visit was part of efforts to raise awareness about the National Sports Festival, which will take place from May 16 to 30, 2025. She noted that the festival remains a vital tool for national unity and integration.

She commended the Adamawa State Government for putting in place necessary measures to ensure the state’s full participation at the festival in Ogun.
