Fintiri Declares Open Stakeholders Engagement on 2025 e-Budget Implementation in Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has flagged off a three-day stakeholders engagement aimed at simplifying the implementation of the 2025 electronic budget (e-Budget) by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Adamawa State.

Declaring the engagement open on Monday in Yola, Governor Fintiri, who was represented by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Emmanuel Anthony Predimso, said the initiative is part of the state’s transition from analogue to digital budgeting.

He explained that the shift to e-Budgeting was necessary due to the challenges MDAs have faced under the traditional analogue system, adding that the sensitisation exercise would equip stakeholders with the knowledge required to operate effectively under the new system.

“The engagement is meant to provide a clear understanding of the principles of budget implementation under a digital framework. This will improve efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the budgeting process,” he said.

The governor noted that Adamawa State had ranked first in the North-East and third nationally in budget performance over the past two years, even while operating under an analogue system. He expressed confidence that adopting the e-Budget system would further boost development and service delivery.

Participants in the workshop include directors of finance, planning officers, and budget officers from various MDAs.

One of the participants, Muhammed Nurudeen Yusuf of ABC Yola, described the engagement as timely and impactful. Another participant, Salamatu Wajike from the Accountant General’s office, said the training would enhance their day-to-day operations.

Highlights of the event included a paper presentation by the Special Adviser to the Governor on e-Governance, Dr. Ahmed Hammajam, alongside other resource persons.

The engagement continues over the next two days with practical sessions and capacity-building workshops.
