The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri, Prof. Mohammed Laminu Mele, has commended Capital Investment Nigeria Limited for its offer to construct 1,000 three-bedroom flats for the institution to address staff accommodation challenges.
Mele gave the commendation when a delegation from the company paid him a courtesy visit at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on Thursday in Maiduguri.
He said the university community, comprising a large number of staff and students, faced increasing demand for housing, adding that the gesture by the company was timely and beneficial.
In his remarks, the President of Capital Investment Nigeria Limited, Mr. Joshua J. Bassey, said his team was in Maiduguri to inaugurate the Borno State Capital Investment Executives, who would work with the company for the next five years.
Bassey pledged to deliver the promised 1,000 flats for the university and announced plans to construct 1,000 houses in each of the 27 local government areas of Borno State.
He said the project was part of the company’s broader housing initiative aimed at improving living conditions across the state.
