Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State presided over a joint meeting with principals and head teachers from across the state on Tuesday at the Banquet Hall, TY Danjuma House, Jalingo. The gathering aimed to discuss rapid measures for renovating existing school facilities ahead of the completion of new buildings.
Governor Kefas announced that funds will be released directly to school principals and head teachers to facilitate urgent renovations, purchase of furniture, installation of fencing, tree planting, and the construction of access roads to schools.
He further urged the revival of Parent-Teachers’ Associations (PTAs) to monitor and supervise the progress of these interventions. Additionally, Community Education Development Committees have been established in each local government area to strengthen community involvement in education.
“Our commitment to developing future leaders and improving the education system in Taraba is unshakeable,” Governor Kefas said. “While easing the burden on parents, we are determined to enhance the quality of education across the state.”
