
The Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru (FUAZ), Kebbi State, has announced vacancies for the positions of Registrar, Director of Works, Physical Planning and Maintenance, and Chief Security Officer.
The announcement was contained in an internal and external advertisement signed by the Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, Mr. Abdulaziz Yusuf Bazata, and published in the Daily Trust newspaper of Monday, Nov. 3, 2025.
According to the notice, suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for the three key administrative positions in the institution, in line with the Federal University’s statutes and conditions of service.
The Governing Council, at its 7th meeting held on Sept. 29, 2025, granted approval for the advertisement of the position of Registrar, as well as the two directorate-level posts.
Registrar
The advertisement stated that the Registrar is the Principal Administrative Officer and Secretary to the Governing Council, Senate, and other statutory committees of the university.
The holder of the office is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the university.
Applicants must possess a good honours degree not below Second-Class Lower Division in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Management Sciences, or related disciplines from a recognized university.
The university noted that possession of higher degrees such as MPA, MBA, M.Ed., M.Sc., or Ph.D. would be an added advantage.
Candidates must have at least 15 years of post-graduation experience, preferably in a university or comparable institution, and must have attained the position of Deputy Registrar.
Membership of relevant professional bodies such as the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA), Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM), or Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM) is also required.
Applicants must demonstrate strong leadership qualities, versatility in staff and student management, emotional stability, integrity, and proficiency in information and communication technology (ICT).
Director of Works, Physical Planning and Maintenance
The Director of Works and Maintenance is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day supervision and management of the University’s physical infrastructure and maintenance services.
The advertisement explained that the Director will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all physical development projects in line with the University’s master plan and standards.
Applicants must hold a good honours degree not below Second-Class Lower Division in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related fields from a recognized institution.
Candidates are also required to have at least 15 years of post-qualification cognate experience, eight of which must have been in a university or comparable institution, and must have attained the position of Deputy Director or its equivalent.
Membership of professional regulatory bodies such as ARCON, COREN, or QSRBN and evidence of computer literacy are additional requirements.
Chief Security Officer
The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the administration and coordination of all security matters across the University’s campuses.
The advert stated that the CSO would ensure the safety of lives and property, advise management on security issues, and liaise with external security agencies.
Applicants must possess a good honours degree not below Second-Class Lower Division from a recognized institution and must have served for at least 12 years in the Armed Forces, Nigeria Police, or other security agencies, not below the rank of Major or Superintendent of Police.
Relevant training certificates and evidence of satisfactory service records are mandatory.
Method of Application
All interested and qualified candidates are required to submit 20 copies of their applications and detailed Curriculum Vitae.
The CV should include information such as name, date and place of birth, marital status, nationality, educational qualifications, work experience, membership of professional associations, and contact details.
Candidates must also provide the names and addresses of three referees, who are to forward confidential reports directly to the University under sealed cover.

The closing date for submission is six weeks from the date of publication.
Applicants are required to present original copies of all credentials and relevant documents during the interview.
The university emphasized that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the next stage of the recruitment process.
