The Adamawa State House of Assembly has debunked social media reports alleging that each member received ₦100 million worth of developmental projects from the 2025 state budget.
Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Information, Hon. Musa Mahmud Kallamu, made the clarification during a telephone interview with Assembly correspondents on Tuesday, describing the report as “baseless and misleading.”
Kallamu said the claim that lawmakers individually received ₦100 million was entirely false, explaining that the funds were approved by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri strictly for community development across the 25 state constituencies.
“The funds were not released to individual lawmakers but to relevant state ministries and agencies responsible for executing the constituency projects,” he stated.
He clarified that lawmakers only submitted lists of prioritized projects for their constituencies, while actual execution remains the responsibility of designated ministries through a formal contract process.
“No member of the Assembly has access to the funds. Our role is limited to nominating projects and supervising their implementation to ensure quality delivery,” Kallamu added.
The Assembly’s spokesperson emphasized that the developmental projects are part of broader efforts by the Fintiri-led administration to improve infrastructure and service delivery at the grassroots level.
“Individuals claiming that lawmakers received ₦100 million each are misinforming the public. The allocations are for constituency development, not personal use,” he said.
He commended Governor Fintiri and the 8th Assembly leadership under Rt. Hon. Bathiya Wesley for what he described as a harmonious working relationship focused on people-oriented governance.
Kallamu further lauded the governor for his consistent commitment to grassroots development, noting that the initiative would help lawmakers fulfill campaign promises and meet the needs of their constituents.
He urged the public to disregard false reports, assuring citizens that the “Fresh Air” administration remains committed to transparency and the welfare of all communities in Adamawa.
