The Adamawa State Government has commenced the construction of a world-class mega general veterinary hospital in Jambutu, Yola North local government area. The project is part of the government’s efforts to boost livestock and aquaculture in the state.
According to the Commissioner for Livestock and Aquaculture Development, Hon. Tijjani Maksha, the construction is being done in partnership with the World Bank’s L-PRESS project, with the state government paying the required counterpart funds.
Maksha revealed that the veterinary hospital is one of five world-class hospitals to be built in Nigeria, with Adamawa being one of the beneficiary states. He also highlighted other achievements of the ministry, including the construction of veterinary diagnostic centers in Gombi and Cigari, and a grazing reserve in Gongoshi.
The commissioner emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence between farmers and herders, urging all stakeholders to live in harmony with one another.
