Adamawa Bishop Condemns Killing Of Over 8,000 Children In Gaza

Catholic Bishop of Yola Diocese, Reverend Doctor Stephen Dami Mamza is worried that over eight thousand children in Gaza are among those being killed and mutilated in the ongoing crisis between Israel and Hamas.

He said the war which started on the 7th of October 2023 has claimed the lives of innocent children and women who are not actors in the conflict.

The cleric expresses his displeasure while addressing the Holy Childhood Association of the Catholic Diocese of Yola during its Day with the Bishop.

In this year’s annual conference, a total of four hundred and fifty-nine children were drawn from all the parishes under the Catholic diocese of yola.

In an interview shortly after the mass, Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza said, the annual program was supposed to be held last year in December but was postponed due to the demise of a diocesan priest, however, the turnout from the children is encouraging.

Bishop Stephen Dami mamza urged the children to be obidient to their parents and guidance while calling on the children to always appreciate their parents for takingcare of them.

The Bishop also remind the children to appreciate and thank God for peace they are enjoying as many children do not have such opportunity due to insecurities and war in their country and state.

He said as a church, “this is another module of catching them young so that they won’t depart from the teachings of Christ.”
