The government of Adamawa State in Nigeria has reiterated its commitment to reviving and upgrading the culture and tourism sectors to international standards. The plan is aimed at attracting investors from within and outside the country.
The Honourable Commissioner of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Babadoke Aloysius made this known on Friday during a Hausa radio programme called “Jihar Mu A Yau ABC Yola”. Under the office of the senior Special Assistant to Governor Fintiri on New Media.
Babadoke also revealed that the government is in talks with international organizations to sign a Memorandum of Understanding to upgrade the state’s zoos and parks to international standards. The success of this plan is expected to increase the internally generated revenue of the state.
Furthermore, the government plans to revive traditional festivals such as the Njuwa fishing festival, among others, to showcase the rich cultural heritage of the state.
Babadoke expressed his appreciation to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for providing the necessary support to participate in the upcoming Northeast Domestic Trade Fair in Bauchi state.
Adamawa State is blessed with a rich cultural heritage and some tourist sites, including the Sukur Kingdom, Kiri Dam, and 3 sisters mountain, among others.
