The Deputy Governor of Adamawa, Prof. Kaletapwa George Farauta, on Tuesday distributed school uniforms, shoes, and bags to pupils of Government Primary School, Salti, in Numan Local Government Area.
Farauta called on traditional rulers and stakeholders to complement the government’s efforts by taking ownership of schools in their communities to ensure effective teaching and learning.
The distribution, sponsored by the Numan community, marked the launch of an enrolment drive aimed at improving school attendance in the area.
Farauta reiterated the administration’s commitment to enhancing education under Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, highlighting achievements such as free education, payment of WAEC and NECO fees, and scholarships.
She urged parents to prioritize their children’s education, emphasizing its transformative power.
Community leaders, including Irene Hamadu, praised the initiatives, describing education as a tool for shaping children’s futures.
The distributed items are expected to motivate pupils, teachers, and parents, fostering collective efforts to improve education in Salti.
