Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Friday commissioned a new 60-bed cottage hospital and a 4.8-kilometer road in Demsa town, marking a significant milestone in his administration’s efforts to transform the health sector and improve infrastructure in the state.
The cottage hospital, the first secondary health facility in Demsa Local Government Area since its creation in 1991, is part of Governor Fintiri’s vision to provide quality healthcare services to citizens. He announced plans to establish cottage hospitals in each of the 21 local government areas of Adamawa, aligning with the national healthcare policy.
The state government has invested significantly in the health sector, including world-class laboratories, dialysis centers, hospitals, and clinics. Hon. Kate Mamuno, representing Demsa in the State House of Assembly, expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for various projects executed in her constituency.
Chief Felix Tamgwami, Commissioner of Health and Human Services, commended Governor Fintiri for his swift responses in containing emerging diseases like Lassa Fever and measles in the state.
The 4.8-kilometer road from Demsa town to Old Demsa, commissioned by Hama Batta, Homun Alhamdu Gladstone Teneke, is expected to alleviate commuter suffering and stimulate economic activities in the area. The Commissioner of Works and Energy, Alhaji Adamu Atiku Abubakar, highlighted the support of the Demsa community in completing the road ahead of schedule.
Governor Fintiri’s efforts in the area were recognized, with a vow from the Chiefdom and people to ensure peace in the community for the benefit of the state.
