Adamawa Government Commits To Boosting Sports Industry

The Adamawa state government has announced a dedicated effort to enhance the sports industry by allocating resources, time, and energy to bolster sports and administrative skills within the sector.

In collaboration with the National Institute for Sports, Lagos, the state is currently hosting a 5-Day Capacity Training Workshop aimed at empowering coaches, sport administrators, game masters, and physical and health education teachers.

The inauguration of the training, held at General Murtala Mohammed College Yola, was presided over by the state Deputy Governor, Professor Kaletapwa George Farauta. She emphasized the government’s commitment to coordinating this capacity-building initiative, highlighting its significance to the current administration’s agenda.

Farauta urged the participants to utilize the knowledge acquired to unearth young talents at the grassroots level and reignite youth enthusiasm in the sports sector. She expressed the government’s unwavering support for the sports industry, emphasizing the hope that the 5-day training would yield substantial benefits for the state.

Professor Olawole Moronkola, Chief Executive Officer of the National Institute of Sports Lagos, emphasized that the training aims to enhance the officiating skills of the participants, ultimately contributing to the revitalization of the sports sector.

Furthermore, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Barrister Wali Yakubu, encouraged the participants to leverage the training to elevate their capabilities and compete effectively within their respective fields.
