Adamawa Government Debunks Misleading Claims on Water Sector

The Adamawa State government has refuted false claims made by Ahmed Munir Adam on social media, accusing the government of neglecting the water sector.

In a statement, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, Humwashi Wonosikou, described the claims as “blatant lies” and set the record straight.

According to Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri’s administration has made significant strides in transforming the water sector, including:

– Renovating facilities across the state
– Providing chemicals to the Water Board for smooth operation of water treatment plants
– Laying new pipelines from Jimeta to Mbamba in Yola South
– Drilling over 200 boreholes to address water supply challenges in areas that previously had no access

Wonosikou highlighted that areas like Mubi, which had not seen taps running in over 40 years, now enjoy a steady water supply thanks to the Governor’s intervention.

The government described Munir’s claims as “misleading” and “mischievous,” stating that he has a personal vendetta against Governor Fintiri. The public is urged to disregard Munir’s false claims and focus on the tangible progress made in the water sector.

The statement concluded that Governor Fintiri’s administration remains committed to delivering quality services to the people of Adamawa State.
