Adamawa Government Empowers 84 Agricultural Cooperatives Across 21 LGAs

The Adamawa State Government, through the Ministry for Entrepreneurship Development, has successfully distributed agricultural inputs to 84 Agricultural Cooperative Societies across the state’s 21 local government areas.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who represented Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to boosting agricultural productivity and supporting local farmers.

The 84 cooperatives, with a focus on women, will receive agricultural inputs including organic fertilizers, improved seeds, and agro-chemicals. These cooperatives are spread across the 21 local government areas of Adamawa State.

Professor Kaletapwa Farauta highlighted that agricultural production and value chain development are key priorities in the administration’s eight-point agenda. She stressed that cooperatives play a crucial role not only in economic development but also in job creation, poverty reduction, and social integration.

She reiterated the administration’s commitment to investing in the physical, social, and economic security of the people of Adamawa. The Deputy Governor also announced the approval of funds for the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development’s ICT training program, called “Fintiri Digital Training,” which will benefit at least 50 unemployed youths from across the state.

She said the initiative aims to empower farmers, strengthen food security, and promote sustainable development across the state. It also aligns with the government’s broader strategy to elevate the agricultural sector and improve the livelihoods of Adamawa residents.

In a remark, the Commissioner Ministry for Entrepreneurship Development, Hon. Hammajumba Gatugel, emphasized that the ministry is dedicated to promoting economic activities in both urban and rural areas. He noted that the distribution of agricultural inputs is aimed at improving food security and boosting agricultural productivity.

Goodwill messages were also delivered by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship Development, Mr. Kwaji Duguri, and the Director-General Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency, PAWECA Michael Zira. They expressed gratitude to Governor Fintiri for his initiatives that support youth and women, and for bringing citizens closer to the government.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Yusuf Hamid thanked the present administration for the support and promised to make good use of the agricultural inputs provided to farmers.
