The Adamawa State Government has reiterated its commitment to supporting the Nigerian Army in its efforts to safeguard the territorial integrity of the country.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, represented by the Head of Service, Pharmacist Isa Ardo, made this known during a special Jummat prayer at the Gibson Jalo Cantonment in Yola.
Ardo said the state government recognizes the sacrifices made by members of the Nigerian Armed Forces in ensuring peace and unity in the country. He commended their dedication, which he said forms the foundation for businesses and other daily activities to thrive.
“The Adamawa State Government will continue to support the armed forces to enable them to carry out their duties efficiently,” he assured.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Gibson Jalo Cantonment, Capt. Ali Algurawi Ismail, said the day was set aside to remember the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for the unity of the country.
Ismail preached on the spiritual rewards of security service, citing Quranic verses and Hadiths to highlight how Allah (SWT) is pleased with those who protect others from harm.
Also speaking, the Chief Imam of the Nigerian Air Force Barracks, Yola, Flight Lt. Abdulkareem, said the armed forces would continue to pray for the repose of the souls of fallen heroes. He assured that the military would also celebrate gallant troops currently at the frontlines restoring peace and normalcy in the country.
The Jummat prayer was attended by military personnel, government officials, and members of the public, who paid tribute to the sacrifices of the armed forces in ensuring the nation’s peace and security.
