The Adamawa Government says it has adopted digital and computer technology to block revenue leakages and improve transparency in governance.
Mr. Chiwaren Emmanuel Abubakar, Special Adviser to the Governor on Revenue Services, disclosed this while featuring on the Hausa radio programme “Jihar Mu a Yau” on Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Yola.
The programme was sponsored by the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Alhaji Muhammad B. Tukur.
Abubakar said the introduction of digital tools had significantly enhanced monthly and annual revenue generation in the state.
He noted that the initiative had also reduced paperwork and improved operational efficiency, accountability and transparency.
According to him, the state government under Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has revived and strengthened eight revenue collection centres across the state to ease grassroots-level collection.
He added that the government is creating an enabling environment for both local and international investors to boost economic growth and increase revenue.
Abubakar further disclosed that the state is implementing key programmes and partnerships, including those with L-Press, ADAS, and ACreSAL, to support economic development.
Speaking on his personal initiative, Team Chiwaren Foundation, he said the group has provided support to the less privileged and helped unify communities during both celebrations and moments of grief.
