Adamawa Govt Approves N185m For Industrial Court Judges’ Property, Others

The Adamawa State Government has approved the sum of N185 million for the purchase of residential property for industrial court judges in the state.

Mr James Iliya, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, made this known while briefing journalists on the outcome of the 17th State Executive Council (EXCO) meeting presided over by Gov. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri at the Government House, Yola.

He said the approval was aimed at providing conducive residential accommodation for the judges to further enhance their services. The contract was awarded to Fatima M. Mandara.

Iliya said the council also approved N125 million for consultancy services for the design and post-design of a new civil service commission block in Yola and the renovation of the Adamawa liaison office in Abuja (lot one). The contract was awarded to Group One Dimension Ltd.

The commissioner further disclosed that the council approved the sum of N200 million as counterpart funding for the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria Project (SPIN).

He explained that the project would boost irrigation development, renewable energy generation, and sustainable agricultural productivity in the state.

According to him, the initiative will create employment opportunities for youths, enhance energy supply and increase agricultural output in Adamawa.
